Wingmaster's Just Another Fella x Tabatha's Tally Ho

Born: 02 September, 1992

Rest: 27 January, 2003

Blossom was our most favorite of all Labrador's!  She was our "Queen B" and will always be.  Her life was full of love for everyone that she met and had a way to always bring a smile to our faces.  We have never met another Labrador Retriever that had the same effect on anyone as she did.  We were told by many people that the litter of Wingmaster's Just Another Fella (Ben) and Tabatha's Tally Ho, was very special one.  This litter touched many hearts and created some of the best years of our lives.

She was diagnosed on 11 January, 2003 with Lymphoma and started chemotherapy on the same date.  She finished one full week of chemotherapy on 18 January, 2003.  Later that evening she was unable to keep down her dinner, which we were told might happen due to the treatments.  Sunday the 19th was even worse, she vomited everything at breakfast, and by noon she was in extreme discomfort!  We rushed her to the Lorain Emergency Clinic and she was hospitalized.  Dr. Talbot did a CBC and checked her electrolytes.  Her WBC (white blood count) had dropped to 1400 and she was rapidly dehydrating, and very low potassium levels causing a very irregular heartbeat.  She was place on a IV drip and watched and cared for her till 8am, where she was transferred to Animal Clinic of Northview, in North Ridgeville, Ohio.  Dr. Randy Hutchins is her attending vet for chemo and her recovery.  She continued to vomit and was kept on the IV.  On Wednesday 22nd she seem to make the turn and was released to our home.  10 minutes after arriving, she spit-up what she had at the clinic.  That is we thought that the ride home might have upset her and she would be better in the morning.  She was uncomfortable no matter where she was, so we took her to bed.  The morning of the 23rd I discovered that she had been sick all night.  I rushed her back to the clinic, and they put her back on the IV and gave her meds for the vomiting, which never stopped.  They even tried meds that are used on human chemo patients to stop vomiting, none of which worked.  By Monday 27 January, 2003 her quality of life was fleeing with every hour.  At 4pm my wife and I asked that she be allowed to pass away without pain.  At 4:15 our "baby Blossom" drew her last earthly breath, and we all cried!   Our lives are so entwined with our Labs, that it is like loosing a child or loved one, when one passes away.  My wife and I hope that God will have our pets in heaven, and that we can continue to have their company.
